Play games on Windows 8 or Windows 7
I've worked with all Windows versions from XP up to 8.1. I own a PC running 7, another with 8.1 that I rarely use, plus a tablet with Windows Tablet edition. Sorry, I don't enjoy relying on third-party tools to restore features that should be there from the start. It bothers me when people use it in debates. It's much better once improvements are made—like a 7 that feels like 8 or copying 7 with some third-party help. Also, that comment felt a bit harsh and made me feel unqualified to share my thoughts.
I understand the vibe, but there are solid reasons I provided benefits to 8 and 7. I’d look at it objectively—what the tech would be used for matters, and how it’s going to be utilized. I believe offering benefits to 9 seems like the most practical choice.
Earlier there was a meeting where Microsoft revealed a "Windows 8.2" featuring a desktop experience with a border and a tile-based start menu, along with apps. Now I suspect they shifted it to 9, which might settle the debates with version 7. Just wanted to avoid coming across as rude earlier.
Windows 8.1 offers a minor edge compared to Windows 7, particularly in gaming titles such as BF4 where the gap is barely noticeable.
I don't understand, but I've met many who jumped from XP to 7 and likely won't try again until 2020... personally I favor 7 more often than 8... and it's cool.
