A while back I was running at maximum performance, achieving 150-200 fps in Fortnite. Now that I haven’t adjusted anything, my frame rate has dropped to 80-100 fps. It seems like a big change.

Stop using high settings. It's not worth it. Turn off shadows, disable post-processing, and disable AA. Adjust the view distance to what you like, and experiment with textures and effects. Recently there are more updates with zombies, crystal effects, and patch changes that impact gameplay. We're using the same GPU and case ;D

Perhaps the contrast becomes clearer only at higher frame rates. It could also be micro-stuttering affecting perception. Noticing a gap between 80 and 200fps on a 60Hz screen doesn’t really add much meaning. Wouldn’t it help using Vsync instead?

The issue was also present before Fortnite. My FPS dropped mainly due to the higher CPU usage from processing all the fog and zombies.

I was testing vsync but it just made things worse. Probably caused some tearing since I noticed a big jump from 80 to over 200, then it snapped back up to 200+. Great to see another 980 user too!

Update was slow and they messed up the friend system, but that's okay.
