Hi, I'm looking for someone who currently plays DayZ with a R9 390 or GTX 970 and an FX 8350. I understand it's not very optimized, but could you share the FPS? It's definitely CPU-heavy and other factors matter too, but I'm just curious about the performance.

Both cases involve the same outcome—the processor is the bottleneck.

I question any distinction would exist. The processor is the key factor, and Intel performs significantly better in dayz.

Nvidia is tailored for the Arma engine, which means PhysX is included. The 970 performs better with higher FPS and smoother gameplay compared to other models. I own a 970/390 and notice improved performance without stuttering.

Noted, 8350 model is always slow. FPS drops significantly even with different cards. A G1 970 helped improve performance by about 40%.

GPU choice isn't crucial if the CPU isn't low-end. An upgraded i5 will significantly boost performance compared to the FX model I saw in Novodmitrov, which ran around 27 fps with its system and an OCed i5 4690K and GTX 770.

In DayZ and Arma, you only need a mid-range GPU like an R9 270 and a GTX 760 to play smoothly. For the processor, an i5 works best; an FX CPU won't perform well. These games don't require more than four cores effectively.

You're likely thinking any i5 will work well, you don't need to overclock it.

It sounds like you're making a strong statement. What do you want to discuss?
