Planet Coaster is an exciting attraction!
I started with Roller Coaster Tycoon and have owned multiple copies of RTC titles. Because RTC World isn’t great, I’ve switched to Planet Coaster. Anyone else enjoy the game and have any Steam Workshop gear?
I've been eyeing this for a while now. I tend to stick to discounted Steam titles, so I'll hold off a bit. It seems promising—similar to Cities: Skylines but with a park theme. Regarding performance, it looks solid; I haven’t noticed heavy CPU or GPU strain.
These titles require an Android VR application to experience roller coasters.
I played the RTC Beta, and was thoroughly disappointed. Then I played it again before launch about a month or so ago. It just looks "Okay". The customization is decent, but nothing to write home about. To me, it doesn't feel like it fits in the same series. PC on the other hand, is very pretty, and has ENDLESS customization. You can literally spend 10 hours just theming the entrance. It feels a bit thin on the content side though. 12 scenarios with 3 missions each, challenge mode and a sandbox. They all seems to evolve into a sandbox mode eventually. Search YouTube for some more in depth reviews. At $45 US it is priced properly. It's brand new, but it might go on winter sale. CPU intense if you have a lot of "stuff". Buildings, scenery, effects etc. It is very much like Cities Skyline. Each scenario has loose objectives, but the world is your oyster. It is built in the Elite engine, and the developer built Elite Dangerous. There is speculation this is coming
Do you own a specialized graphics card? I’d love to see some performance data for this game—specs like GPU type, core count, clock speed, RAM, etc. It’s a pretty solid title compared to what I’m used to. I also noticed Planet Coaster hasn’t exceeded 4 GB of VRAM even after loading a few large coasters in my sandbox. I’m currently running at 3440x1440 resolution.
