FFXV includes a 4K texture pack that must be downloaded separately. It’s possible the pirated copy lacks it. The article didn’t discuss this issue. Regarding performance, if DRM is consuming many CPU cycles, it should slow things down at lower resolutions like 720p due to a bottleneck. However, testing showed the Steam version runs faster at 720p but slower at 1080p, which seems normal.
I haven't noticed a pirated copy missing the DLC before. Still, could they really overlook such an issue? They'd need to install the huge 4k texture pack intentionally and turn it on.
The legitimate version works better at 720p because it has optimized code and features tailored for that resolution, ensuring smoother performance and higher quality visuals.
Most PC gamers use 1080p, with Steam showing 68% adoption. Currently, just 0.41% play at 720p.
The game requires over 80GB storage with a high-resolution texture size around 60GB, intended mainly for internet bandwidth and user requirements.
