Piracy in FPS games isn't linked to a rise in popularity.
This shouldn’t violate guidelines since it’s a broad talk about the real software behind pirated games. I just read this article (linked below). That’s the conversation I was aiming for. Can this be accurate? Thanks @dgsddfgdfhgs
It has been confirmed that certain DRM methods reduce frame rates, which means pirated or modified versions run smoother.
I considered saying that but didn’t want to risk being incorrect.
They confirmed the genuine release runs more efficiently at 720p. If DRM consumes excessive CPU resources, it should lag behind in lower resolutions. It’s possible the pirated copy lacks high-quality assets or uses smaller textures.
the pirated titles include authentic game files, though certain high-resolution textures and audio packs must be downloaded individually. at least the content remains consistent.
What is the reason for the reduced quality in the pirated release? Was it intentionally done to test or entertain?
