I often experience slow performance at 2ms ping, yet when I attempt to use any network activity—like speed testing or downloading—I see the ping jump and sometimes stop completely. I’m currently connected via WLAN on a freshly cleaned Windows 10 installation. I’ve already adjusted settings by Chris Titus, which helped reduce the issue. Current status: Idle—Speed test—Downloading:

We need more details about your setup. Could you tell us which WLAN adapter you're using on your PC? What access point is available in your home? Is this issue only when you're using high bandwidth? Do you have Quality of Service enabled on your router?

Driver: Checking the router configuration; it doesn’t show the Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210. Updating to Huawei EchoLife EG8021V5 is the correct step.

It seems your issue might stem from the SOC being overwhelmed by heavy traffic. Consider upgrading to a router with Wi-Fi capabilities and offloading processing to the modem instead. Additionally, overheating could be the cause—adding a case fan often resolves it.
