Hello everyone, my issue is this: the pins from my power supply (Corsair RM650) don't align with what I connect to the motherboard (MSI MPG Z490 gaming plus). The red slot is for a square pin, while the blue slot holds non-square pins. What should I do to connect everything properly? Yes, I could detach the PSU->CPU connector and use the left side on CPU_PWR 2 (4 pins) or the right side on CPU_PWR1 (also 4 pins). But where should I connect the second part from the 4-pin+4-pin connector? The blue one is non-square and fits anywhere, though it might damage the board if connected incorrectly. On the PSU side, everything seems correct and the connections look right. EDIT: According to page 33 of this manual: https://gzhls.at/blob/ldb/0/0/e/b/f6aa1b...590cd7.pdf It explains that the upper rows on the motherboard are +12V and the lower rows are for grounding. It doesn't matter. The top row provides +12V, the bottom is ground. Join the two 4+4 connectors and connect them to the 8-pin connector on the board.

The D shaped pins fit squarely in the headers, but the reverse isn't feasible. The connector was updated at the cable end so either half of it can connect to CPU_PWR2. Many users either forced it into the 4-pin slot, contacted support, or returned the board due to issues. With this setup, you don't necessarily need a 4-pin header—just the 8-pin version works.
