I recently acquired a used 5900X and observed that one pin is missing. It appears to be broken at the base, while the base and pad remain intact. I decided to run it through my system to check if the CPU would still function properly. From what I understand, the CPU operates without issues. Now I’m curious about the reason for the absent pin. According to the pinout chart, this pin is labeled "AGPIO 86." I’ve looked at the documentation here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0...GG4nHgU3E/. The comments suggest further clarification is needed. What’s the role of these AGPIO pins? Or more specifically, what does the AGPIO 86 pin do? I’m currently testing it, and so far everything seems normal. Stress tests with Prime95 showed stable performance across multiple cores and threads. The Furmark 1440p test caused minor stutters, possibly due to GPU usage rather than CPU limitations. All PCIe slots are functioning correctly, though I plan to check smaller ones. External USB ports and internal USB 2.0 headers are working at full speed without issues. The Wi-Fi antenna, audio inputs, and various connectors are also operational. Fan headers, 5V LED, and 12V LED headers are all responding properly. Some SATA ports freeze the system, but Ports 3, 4, and 6 work fine even after stress testing. Port 5 doesn’t freeze but can’t detect devices. Overall, the system is stable except for a few areas that need more attention. I’ll continue testing various components and document my findings.

GPIO serves as a versatile input/output connection. AGPIO likely belongs to a module or port labeled A. No significant issues expected, though certain interfaces such as USB, PCIe, or Ethernet might not work properly. Without a detailed schematic, it's hard to determine the exact problem.

I think you're right. The only thing that I've found so far that doesn't work is half of my sata ports. (See post for added tests). Do you think that there's a big chance that the onboard connectors(pins) for usb3.2, usb 2.0 and front panel pins are also nonfunctional? Or is this probably controlled by some other pin on the cpu? I won't have a case for another 4 days at least and don't have anything to test this for now

It should be fine—it really depends on what the pin does. I’ve had issues with older 939 chips when pins were missing, like folding a row on a Windsor chip and losing seven pins, which affected channel A on the RAM. Still, the thing kept running. Back in the bare die AMD era, I’d often drop my cooler after some wobbly moments, but it would still work. CPUs are resilient... until you hit them just right.

Many of these connectors aren't being used. I had a pair of twin 6400+ processors missing pins on either side of the board, yet they still reached 4ghz on Dice. Sometimes skipping ground pins works too. I've tested several socket A chips with broken or cracked corners. CPUs can be tough to damage, but it usually depends on managing those high voltages. Ryzen SOC 1.40v is not stable at ambient; maybe around 1.28v or a bit higher, like 1.30. For cooling, liquid helps between 1.35 and 1.38v.
