Check the local configuration by connecting via SSH or visiting the IP address directly in a browser. It’s likely you can try it and see if it works.

I noticed the web portal seems inactive, so I altered the password to a lengthy random string. I’m considering adding a firewall for my VPS as well. Any reliable recommendations would be appreciated. Fail2ban has worked before, but I’m not sure it’s still sufficient.

Wouldn't it be better to simply shut down the web server when not in use and restart it only when needed? You could also configure an iptables rule to restrict access based on IP addresses if you prefer keeping it running continuously.
