So I've been waiting for the Christmas Steam Sale all year and now it's here and I can't help but think that I may have waited a bit too long this year.. I was sure that the main stales and Steam Events would be around Christmas time but they seem to have happened more around Fall and Halloween this year. I may be wrong and we are still "early" in this sale but this doesn't seem as big or "all in" as the ones of the last couple months.. And that's ok, it's just that I now have a large list of games to get pretty much all at once and it's hard to tell if it's worth waiting to see if there will be a flash sale on them individually or go ahead and get the bulk of them now.. There's no telling how much more a game could be off for unless I wait it out but I am afraid of missing that specific sale and that game going back to a higher price than the regular sale before the flash sale, and I don't want to go through the check-out process 10+ times in the next week. Now I know there's GreenManGaming and Humble Bundle and such but it's hard to keep track of all of these, pus my bank doesn't recognize GMG.. What do you think? How long is it worth it to wait? What games are you eager to get and how long are you willing to wait or what's your minimum sale percentage? Here are my must get this time around: Fable: Anniversary The Stanley Parable Gone Home Final Fantasy VII(7) The Banner Saga This War of Mine Valiant Hearts Dark Souls 2 Telltale: Game of Thrones, Walking Dead S2, and Tales From the Borderlands Fallout 3 Thomas Was Alone Beyond, Good and Evil Shadow Run Some Nice to gets: Borderlands the Pre-Sequel Brothers -A Tale of Two Sons Broken Age QUBE Civ V Legend of Grimrock 2 Child of Light Transistor Papers, Please A Story About My Uncle Mark of the Ninja Monaco Wolfenstein: The New Order Alan Wake Star Wars Battlefront 2 Alien: Isolation And yeah I went ahead and got Dragon Age Inquisition for 20% off on Origin; that was another must get.
I just got Dark Souls 2 and it's really great, I'm loving every minute of it. I also have Borderlands 2 because it's only about $5.
Yes, you'll need to complete the checkout process multiple times during the sale, but it stays simple with just a few clicks. You won't feel stressed buying games at 33% off, only to find another deal the next day offering 75% off. Also consider series—if a game is on daily deals, the entire series might benefit from the same discount.
