Hi everyone. I need any information or tips about overclocking this PC. I'm not sure if reaching 3.0GHz is feasible. The CPU model is Phenom II X4 925, the motherboard ECS A785GM-AD3 V:1.0, and I plan to use a 4-pipe tower cooler with a GTX 650. Thanks ahead of time.

Only method to activate nen-BE Phenom is increasing FSB, but this also increases memory and PCIe speeds, and higher values can cause instability. You need to manually set the PCIe bus to its default frequency (remembering if it's 100 or 200MHz) and then reduce memory frequency slightly. After that, you can gradually increase FSB a bit and CPU voltage while ensuring stability.

It's going to be tough if it's not BE locked, as the multiplier can only function through FSB.

The mobo is a black edition, though it isn't the CPU. I've seen some YouTube videos where people modify the 925, using different mobos.

noted, i didn't grasp what you were referring to by FSB, but after further investigation i made it clear. my ram is clocked at 1600, so i'll aim to keep it near that. i also found something on overclock.net that might assist, though they use a different motherboard.

i handled a 3.08ghz oc, it was straightforward, but i'm having trouble getting an accurate temperature reading. i played around for about four hours without any issues.
