The creators behind Mechwarrior Online are PGI. If you're unfamiliar, they now hold the Star Commander IP and launched Transverse as a new simulation. While it resembles Star Citizen, the experience feels heavily influenced by its predecessor, featuring several questionable expansions. The author discusses how the game mirrors Star Citizen closely, noting its somewhat naive ambitions. Following criticism on the MWO subreddit, Niko took charge of Transverse, swiftly removing content that raised concerns. His actions led to the subreddit's rapid decline, with comments being deleted within days. Niko’s reputation is also tarnished by recent bans for voicing complaints on social media platforms.

I don't really care about this PGI bs since it's all about reddit crap. I've seen so much bs spewed there that you really shouldn't take it to heart. Blows my mind every time something related to it is referenced as news. Gotta say that the pictures make me want a new Gundam game to come out in 2016.

I understand it's fine if there are several space sims available. This could lead to more competition among the major ones. There might be more going on here, but it seems the community team isn't doing a great job. At the same time, I suspect some Star Citizen fans are deliberately trolling their subreddits.

Hey, just paste the game right here. CIG should have acquired the Wing Commander IP if it was priced under $500,000—it’d have been a hit. Many people would have appreciated more games, though at least it showed some effort. The game seems quite similar to a carbon copy, and the stretch goals are the biggest issues here.

They’re acting out of greed rather than genuine interest. This isn’t a fair competition—it’s more about them grabbing quick money. They’ve ignored the original creators, showing no respect for the game’s roots. Focus on what they promise versus what they deliver.

Yes, Star Citizen was the initial and sole space-themed video game.

I don<|pad|> a bit, the design elements feel quite alike—it's not a copy. People often complain about similarities between Dota 2 and League of Legends, but it's just the same genre.

Yes, there is a game called Elite Dangerous that resembles a cool space-themed experience.
