pfsense router help
Hello! Your setup looks good so far, but there might be a few things to check. Make sure the SSD is properly seated and connected, and verify that the power LEDs are functioning correctly. Also, confirm that the USB stick is recognized by the PC and that you're using the correct installation tool. If the SSD isn't showing up in the BIOS or system settings, try booting from a different USB drive to rule out driver issues. Let me know if you need further help!
Did you experience a boot-up or BIOS screen? I went through something similar when configuring my NUC for pfSense. It turned out my premium RAM wasn’t compatible right away, and I needed a BIOS update before it would start. Fortunately, I had some spare SODIMMs to use temporarily while I updated.
I don’t see any video coming out at all. There’s only one HDMI port, and I’ve tested it on three different monitors using two different cables with no signal. The lights indicate it’s running, but there’s no video output. I used an old 8GB SK Hynix stick (DDR4-2400) from a previous laptop. I also have a smaller 4GB stick that hasn’t been tested yet—I’ll try it to see if it helps.
