I own an Optiplex 3020 equipped with an I7-4785T chipset (4 cores, 8 threads), 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD. It runs PfSense, along with a USB to Ethernet adapter connected to another PC. I’m experiencing slow internet speeds regardless of whether I’m using PfSense or not. A desktop without PfSense reaches 220 D, 13 U, while with it it drops to 45 D, 12 U. I’ve tested the USB connection on other machines and they perform better when not linked to the PfSense server. I’m connected via a USB 3.0 port, which should allow higher speeds than the 45 D reported. This is with PfSense enabled and without it.
