Hi there,
i seem to have a problem with my keyboard. I finally realized that this is not just a game issue when it happened today in Assassin's Creed 2. Long story short, whenever i hold freerunning key (Shift + Space for me) and then turn left (A), my character keeps moving in that direction for about 3 seconds, which gets rly annoying when i am climbing or trying to escape. Oddly enough, this doesnt happen when i am turning right (D). Everytime i do press Shift + Space + A i am able to "override" it by turning to the other direction.
This happened to me in Arma 3 before as well, specifically when trying to turn my character to the left (Shift + Q). After releasing the keys, it kept "turning" for about 2 seconds.
When i try to press the first combination in my Notepad, it keeps typing A for about 3 seconds and then it stops... similar to the AC problem.
A keyboard i use is Genius GX Gaming Manticore, i do sometimes misspress Macro Recording button, but since i do not have any SW installed, i dont think that is the issue.
Even after reinstalling Windows, this problem didnt disappear, so i have no idea what might be going on... Thanks for all the help in advance.
EDIT: Seems like that in AC2 it happens when pressing Space (Faster walking) + A (Turning left) as well... my character just keeps moving to the left for about 2 seconds... really annoying
EDIT2: Ok, i have isolated the problem... it is the combination Space + A... even when pressing it in Notepad or Chrome, it just keeps typing A's for about 2 seconds...

It appears your “A” key isn’t functioning properly; attempting to clean the keyboard using compressed air could resolve this issue.

The issue appears to be a sticky “A” key; attempting to clean the keyboard with compressed air could help. It seems unusual, as this problem only occurs when the Spacebar is also pressed – the “A” key functions normally during regular typing and gaming.

Here’s a potentially useful discussion on that topic:

BadActor: Ok, then this thread might help: Sadly, it doesnt work. Interestingly enough, it adds a delay before the repeat after the first "A" is typed...

It seems you’ve experimented with a different keyboard. Are you familiar with creating macros? Perhaps we could remove them.

User:
I suspect you’ve attempted another keyboard as well. Have you developed any macros? I might consider removing them.

Previously, I had, prior to reinstalling Windows. After my recent installation of the software and a check, all macros were missing – they were located in the folders rather than within the keyboard itself…

EDIT: Actually, I hadn’t experimented with different keyboards because I thought “It only occurs when specific keys are pressed; it wouldn't be a keyboard problem.” However, after trying one, the issue isn’t present. This is strange, haha... unfortunately, it didn’t genuinely resolve my difficulty, as I prefer to utilize Manticore and enjoy it greatly… but thank you for your assistance nonetheless.

Nevermind, updated Firmware and it is working... glad it was something this simple and stupid. At any rate, do not understand why Genius has 2 "drivers" needed for this keyboard, but i am glad it works now nevertheless...

This is strange. Over many months, I’ve been attempting to resolve the same issue, purchasing a new keyboard, completely resetting my PC twice, and updating my PC – none of it appears to be effective, and it’s irritating when I attempt to play games on my computer.

Update: I realize this happened five years ago, but I still want to find a solution.

Initiate a fresh discussion, detailing the issue’s background and
your
particular equipment. Reviving an old topic from six years prior is unsuitable.
