Periodic display reboot issue
Periodic display reboot issue
Hi, I'm working with a MacBook Pro M1 running the newest MacOS. I have two external monitors connected through HDMI to the USBC port. Earlier this week, the VE247 display appeared blurry when I began using it, so I reset it and it has been functioning properly afterward. However, the VP248QG started behaving oddly—seemed to restart quickly without showing the ASUS logo at startup. It would freeze, then return but wouldn't appear in the virtual desktop I was using. This issue happened repeatedly over a short span (10-15 minutes). After resetting the monitor, I changed the HDMI and power cables with the other monitor, but the problem remained with the VP monitor. I even tried swapping the ports on the laptop to see if that would help, but the issue persisted. Recently, it stopped working entirely for about 30 minutes before resuming normal operation. I'm looking for troubleshooting tips and any relevant log files to investigate further. Thanks in advance!
I thought it might be failing, just in case. I was hoping it could be a MacOS update or another program causing a problem. I don’t want to spend money on a monitor right now. Asus doesn’t provide MacOS drivers for their monitors, and there’s no firmware listed online. It seems like I’ll have to wait until I can find something in the system logs to understand what’s wrong.
You may find more success on a Mac-focused community—though I don’t have any solid suggestions for good ones.
