Performing overclocking without using a watercooler
Hello everyone,
I'm curious about the safety of pushing the Intel i5-7600k to 4.5 ghz without a watercooler.
I currently have a $70 "Be Quiet!" CPU fan, and I'll share the link later.
My goal is to overclock this CPU using my 1080 graphics card until I can afford an i7-7700k, which isn't possible with the 8700k model.

I boost my i7 8700k using a Cryorig R1, making it feasible to further overclock with an air cooler. You can find a Cryorig H7 that matches the performance of the dark rock 4 for about $25 less.

Many individuals follow this approach, simply keeping an eye on temperatures. Unless you opt for an extremely premium AIO or a bespoke loop water cooler, nothing surpasses a standard air cooler.
