Most people are complaining about the lag, but I'm testing on a GTX 1060 at 1440p with various settings and it's stayed above 30fps every time. What do you think?

gtx970 operates smoothly at 1500mhz with consistent 50 fps. Ultra model delivers crisp details while other settings handle cloud, shadow, reflection, and blur effects. TAA and VSync work well at 1080p. Updated August 10, 2020 by dfsgsfa

I experienced frame pacing and an inconsistent studder on the Ryzen+ 2080ti setup, similar to what Digital Foundry offers. The overall performance wasn't smooth, so I had to request a refund. The image quality was poor, while the PS4 Pro provided a more stable experience with around 30 fps.

I'm really pleased with the image quality. Running it on borderless avoided the odd scaling problems I faced before. Besides a few stutters in the early rooms as a kid, everything has worked smoothly so far. I'm genuinely amazed that a laptop with an Intel 1060 can handle this well at 1440p in a game that's usually not optimized.

Gameplay outside of cutscenes runs smoothly without noticeable stuttering, though occasional tiny micro-stutters appear during random mouse movements. Cutscene transitions are poor quality, with every cut featuring a hard stutter. The game also exhibits some unusual behavior—switching directions causes a sudden drop to 50fps, then quickly recovers to 60fps without moving the mouse. This suggests an internal bottleneck, possibly from my MainSys DDR32133 Memory. Outside of intense movement, the experience has been quite smooth. I have a playlist on YouTube for HZD if you're interested, but I can't share it here.

Others believe 30 fps isn't impressive. If you're comfortable, that's fine! At medium settings you should easily hit 30 fps, but the port struggles. I'm content with 60 fps, though I notice skips and timing problems when an icon appears. Also, cutscenes make things unpredictable. The overall experience varies a lot. With a relatively old PC, great performance is still achievable.

Looking at a 1060 at 1440p is unusual—I usually don’t push performance this far for solid results. Texture quality is medium, models are ultra detailed, shadows are sharp, reflections are high, clouds are medium, and antialiasing is top-notch. At 1080p it runs smoothly at 60fps, but on a 1440p display it looks subpar. 720p pushes me to its limits, though I favor optimized performance over maxed settings. I’m planning to test a GTX 960 with 2GB VRAM at 1080p today and see if it handles the workload without hitting memory limits.

Slowmo Aiming (focus) has issues with saves. Several users mention the same link: https://streamable.com/yzhanj

It's understandable to feel that staying above certain thresholds shows solid results. For PCs, averages over 60 with minimums around 50 are considered strong. HZD's current performance, even if not perfect, isn't surprising given the limitations of a console environment.
