Performance update for Dying Light game.
Performance update for Dying Light game.
Are you playing the game with maximum performance? Lower shadows to medium while keeping foliage prominent. Set the view distance to the smallest and test again. If it remains insufficient, disable other optional features such as AA, NVIDIA options, and motion blur. With these adjustments, you should achieve 40-83 frames per second. If the issue persists, further reduce shadows, increase foliage to medium, and consider removing the film grain effect. Navigate to the taskbar, open dyinglight.exe, click the affinity tab, and deselect core 0 (as mentioned in the comment). If you're not happy, it might be time to upgrade. R9 290x are available at a discount, and Intel i3 or i5 models also work well.
Even if I was, it wouldn't change the fact that my hardware is no longer being fully utilized in any way, and yet there's no actual change in performance as a result of it, not to mention the settings are no different from where they were before. Also, no. Everything is either low or off, with the exception of textures which have no low setting, but that's beside the point. The difference between medium and high textures for me is 900MB of VRAM and 1700MB of VRAM and about 20% overall gpu usage... still never reaching 100%. Framerate is, once again, unaffected.
Some users are noting that adjusting settings doesn’t really improve frame rates. Based on my observations, this seems accurate. A Reddit thread discusses this issue, suggesting that disabling certain options can resolve the problem for some. Others attempt similar changes but without success. It appears each system behaves differently. I plan to investigate further tomorrow as it’s already late. In the meantime, check the links provided or search for your CPU/GPU model online. Make sure no apps are running while you play.
All issues resolved! Viewing distance doesn't significantly affect frame rate.
It's still not working well for me. I manage 60 fps when I focus properly, but it drops to just 20 fps whenever I try to fight zombies. My CPU usage is around 60%, which isn’t the main issue, though my 970 only uses about 35%. Dying Light could have been a good game, but I’m unsure how long I can keep playing. Anyone have tips to make my GPU work harder?
