Performance update for Dying Light game.
Dying Light receives an update aimed at improving performance and optimization. Still, AMD systems and multi-GPU arrangements may face ongoing challenges. http://steamcommunity.com/games/239140/a...9185739891 It's encouraging to witness efforts to enhance PC game efficiency. Recently, I've grown frustrated with ports that fall short; Dying Light appears to be working. I tried it on a GTX 760SC before the patch and maintained steady 35-40 frames most of the time, with only minor stutters.
The issue keeps happening even after adjusting settings. It seems unrelated to the grain effect, so it might be another factor affecting performance. This is frustrating.
It's completely random. I'm going to be doing crazy moves, changing weapons, and causing chaos. Or I'll just keep moving and colliding.
Are you all using the newest NVIDIA release? Turn on Threaded Optimization, choose adaptive V-sync, set monitor refresh rates to the maximum possible, and enable power management at full performance in the NVIDIA control panel. I’m no longer seeing any FPS drops when going from 100 to 40 or 30 after the update and adjusting settings. My current average is now 105.
I notice how the way core load has been adjusted is consistent across models, including AMD CPUs. Yet, there hasn't been any noticeable boost in performance. Before the update, my 6300 would hit 100% on core 1 and fluctuate between 20% and 60% on others. After the patch, none of my cores reach 90%, and the distribution looks more balanced—most stay around 50-60%. The best any core achieves is about 80%, but it stays near half that range. The fix seems to improve utilization, yet the actual frame rate remains unchanged. Before, my average frame rate was around 25-30; now it's still in that same range. I see AMD acknowledging past issues with per-core performance, but it appears their latest patch only addresses usage patterns, not raw speed. Why then doesn’t it make a difference? Can you clarify this discrepancy?
