Verify CPU utilization per core. If cores hit 95-100%, it might be the issue, especially with Zen and Zen+ not ideal for high refresh gaming. Confirm XMP/DOCP settings are active and both memory modules are operating in dual-channel mode.
The issue seems consistent across all titles, pointing to a system-level problem. On my setup with 1440p@144Hz and RTX2060, Apex runs smoothly at minimum settings. When I used the Ryzen 5 2700X, FPS stayed steady but performance dropped noticeably—games felt choppy despite moderate CPU usage around 70-80%. It's worth noting that Apex is heavily optimized, so it shouldn't serve as a reliable benchmark.
Xmp is active with ram sticks operating in dual channel mode. Core CPU utilization stays under 60%, while GPU usage hits 80% or more when viewed from buildings and drops to 40-50% when seen from the sky.
Your CPU usage stays near 50%. You tried an i7 7700K with a new motherboard, but the issue persists. The same problem appeared across various games you played.
They don’t have any core usage above 60%? Have you attempted to set up the game(s) on an SSD if they weren’t already? Use DDU to delete your current video driver and then download the newest version from Nvidia’s site. Are you using the same Windows setup you had with the 7700K? Updated July 31, 2020 by Mateyyy
You can set up MSI Afterburner alongside Rivatuner and monitor frame time through a graph displayed on the screen. Look for any spikes that indicate choppiness. 2) Use the Framedrop test on the UFO test site to identify if your panel is causing frame drops.
