I understand the distinction between screen tearing and when the game lacks smooth performance. I’m okay with screen tearing and definitely get it when VSync is turned off, but choppy gameplay didn’t exist before. Also, disabling VSync in games and capping FPS at 60 in Dxtory brings back that choppy feel even though FPS is limited. It seems the issue relates to VSync. Thanks for your help!

Check if your power management is set to adaptive rather than always aiming for peak performance.

I'll also try that when I'm back home. Appreciate the effort to assist. I want to note that my memory usage frequently spikes to 94% after roughly an hour while playing games or using After Effects. Even after turning off After Effects, the usage doesn't return to normal—it remains at 94% until I restart the PC. Occasionally I experience severe lag that forces me to restart the system (this doesn't happen very often).

Sure, review the power management settings I had similar problems with; they worked fine afterward. Concerning memory usage, I've observed that putting my PC to sleep on Windows 8.1 often triggers a blue screen with "WHEA unrecovable error," especially during gameplay like BF4 or other titles. This seems to happen when the computer is put to sleep for any reason—could you share if you experience the same?

I haven’t encountered such an issue. It appears to be a high memory consumption when idle, and there’s no display in the Task Manager. It might relate to your Windows version—it looks similar. I’m not very familiar with this.
