Hello, I just bought a new PC. Acer Predator PO3-655 00F. The specifications are: Intel i5-14400f, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070, Super 16gb DDR5 at 5600mhz, and 1tb storage. The issue is clear—I can't maintain a stable 144fps in most games. For instance, R6 Siege runs smoothly, but ranked play drops to 120fps or less. Battlefield 2042 averages 80-100fps, with a peak of around 140. Even simple games like Risk of Rain 2 keep dropping from 144 to 120. I rarely exceed 50% GPU usage while playing heavier titles like BF2042. However, in BF2042, the CPU seems to be the bottleneck since it hits 100% usage, even though the GPU doesn’t. Interestingly, less demanding games still struggle to hit 144fps. Windows reinstalled didn’t fix the problem, and the CPU isn’t overheating or throttling. What could be causing this, and what can I do about it?

It appears the system runs at 4400Mhz with a single 16GB drive. I've adjusted the graphics options, but the performance remains unchanged. The R6 should work smoothly even with maximum settings, though I'm currently using competitive configurations in that game.

The system reports 4400Mhz, which suggests the XMP/EXPO feature isn’t active. Consider turning it on if you’re familiar with the settings.

Obtain an additional RAM stick, consider aftermarket cooling solutions if needed. Locked Intel CPUs aren't ideal for high refresh rate gaming, but you can still improve performance by pairing them with memory controllers and boosting the boost clock using devices like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE.

Sorry to hear that. The BIOS isn't displaying the option, and it's hard to locate the latest Acer BIOS updates that might help.

It seems you're asking about my performance metrics. What would you like to know?

With just one stick of RAM, your performance drops significantly—so what you need really depends on the situation. It might make sense to invest in a better setup rather than sticking with an Acer pre-built machine. Just a thought.

MB is an Acer Predator PO3-655, no XMP/EXPO choice available. Securely stored.
