Hi, I recently purchased an RTX 3080 and initially assumed there could be a minor bottleneck, but I wasn’t expecting it to become so apparent after testing it in various games. Now I’m working on fixing the problem, though it’s proving challenging. Replacing the motherboard or CPU might not be feasible at the moment. Since I installed the CPU a while back, its clock speed has remained consistently around 4.3GHz even when idle. The expected boost frequency is 4.7GHz, but it never reaches it. How can I get the CPU to achieve its normal turbo boost? P.S.: I understand overclocking could help, but I’m not confident in doing it myself. Here are my specs: an Intel i7-8700K stuck at 4.3GHz, a Gigabyte Aorus gaming 7 motherboard, MSI RTX 3080 gaming trio, 16GB RAM at 3200MHz (XMP enabled), and two Corsair HX1200W SSDs with a PSU.

The peak all-core speed reaches 4.3GHz. Since Nvidia chips run software drivers that handle multiple threads, you won’t often face games where many cores aren’t used, so your CPU rarely hits the full 4.7GHz. My 9600K typically stayed around 4.3GHz, with a few exceptions like Alan Wake, which was single-threaded and sometimes reached 4.5GHz, though it was mostly closer to 4.3GHz.

It's a shame about this situation. I was thinking we might be able to extract some performance from it to ease the slowdown without needing an overclock.

MCE enhances all aspects of your performance while aligning them with your main boost. It functions similarly to overclocking by raising temperatures and voltage. As long as your cooling system is sufficient, you can simply adjust it without needing extensive changes.

The guide doesn’t mention multicore improvements either. Make sure your graphics card is compatible with that feature.

I chose 4.7 ghz since the CPUs were grouped well for that speed. 5.0 ghz isn’t feasible with every 8700k chip.
