Performance problems with the Ryzen 9 3900X
Hello everyone, I've observed some performance problems on my PC lately. After checking, it seems the CPU isn't performing well, though it isn't overheating. My power supply is quite old—built during a time when they were scarce—and I used the one from my previous setup. It's been working okay for a while now, but recently it's started acting up, which makes me think there might be an issue with the power source. I have a screenshot showing slow loading times and hiccups when switching tabs or opening Firefox. Any suggestions?
It seems the system is overheating. The issue you're experiencing—stuttering input and delayed responses—appears to occur mainly when using certain features like alt-tab or searching. Despite checking online, the problem persists even with lower graphics settings, and the game maintains around 60 frames per second. Cinebench scores were high during testing, but performance dropped noticeably during read mode with audio issues.
The H510 struggles with heat dissipation; without modifying its design, performance remains poor. The H212 isn't ideal for this CPU, especially in a hot case. A higher-quality cooler would be necessary. (DeepCool AK 620 would be a solid choice) Upgrading the case to one with better cooling would also help.
You might also encounter other problems with Windows or related issues. However, hitting 95°C is a serious concern at 110% and can lead to throttling regularly. There are many cases to consider—check YouTube for Gamers Nexus Best PC Cases (2022/2023) to find options that suit your needs.
