I accidentally turned off the laptop after a reboot, and it keeps crashing in sleep mode. The throttle stop helped a bit, but nothing can be done. I'm deciding which Mini PC to buy—between the Minisforum UM350 and HM90. I know the UM350 struggles with its cooling limits, so it might not reach its full performance. The HM90 seems more promising, especially since it supports 2x2.5" drives.

Have you explored the ThrottleStop Sleep Defaults setting? It adjusts the CPU voltage to standard levels right before sleep, reducing the risk of crashes upon restart.

No such feature exists in the current settings. Would you like to explore alternative options?

The Sleep Defaults option is only available on 4th Gen and newer CPUs. On a 2nd Gen CPU, you need to check the SpeedStep box so ThrottleStop can work correctly. SpeedStep should be enabled in the BIOS. Disabling SpeedStep was a common trick for desktop computers. There is never a good reason to disable SpeedStep. The 2nd Gen mobile CPUs do not use an integrated voltage regulator (FIVR) so they are very limited in what you can do with them.

it was one of many random bios options that could temporarily resolve the problem. I adjusted the memory settings—disabling scrambler support, setting proper RAM frequency, and enabling TLUD auto. Changed "USB always on" to "Disabled" since it consistently caused issues when enabled. Save the changes and restart. Enter sleep mode, then reboot. When you reopen BIOS, set "USB always on" back to "Enabled." This has worked reliably over a long time. Save again and restart. The system now enters sleep mode normally and wakes up correctly. It seems there might be some unusual behavior, possibly quantum-related, but the fix is solid.
