Performance problems with dying light effects
260x increased from 24fps to 45fps after adjusting the view distance from Maximum to Minimum.
I understand, just sharing what I noticed for their gain... (They can also check my sig for CPU/RAM details, as agreed.) The 260x performs quite well, though I dislike the film grain and plan to remove it tonight.
The setup R9 290, i5-4440 with 16GB RAM typically achieves around 45 FPS at full load. You might want to reduce foliage settings since they rely on Nvidia Physx. Using Dying Light Manager can help eliminate Chromatic Aberration and film grain for better visuals. Switching reflection rendering to the CPU and disabling fluid splash effects on the camera should also improve performance. You can also disable in-game anti-aliasing and use a CSAA injector for extra speed. Make sure you're running the most recent patch, as the latest one fixed a CPU single-thread issue.
You're not using a fast SSD like a WD Green, are you? I'm checking for alternatives, perhaps leveraging AMD GPU capabilities. Consider running the manager mod and testing if reflections improve performance.
You're using a Seagate Barracuda 1TB drive and plan to try the modulator at home after school.
