Hi, my device has been behaving oddly since the latest update. It began showing system crashes while playing games, then artifacts appeared on the desktop too. I encountered error code 43, which indicates Windows shutting down hardware even when a visual output appears. After several attempts, it stopped working properly. Some titles won’t start at all, others boot but crash later, and some fail right before gameplay begins. Raising the power limit to 90% helped stability in certain games, while benchmarks still ran as expected. System info shows I have 16GB RAM installed, but only 8GB is listed under "Total Physical Memory," matching what Task Manager reports. The BIOS lists two 8GB sticks, yet only 8GB appears available. I’ve tried updating drivers, disabling/enabling the card, flashing the GPU, repairing Windows via CMD, cleaning the registry, checking HDDs, and even swapping RAM modules. Nothing works now—no boot under any settings, CMOS battery removed, and nothing changed. This has been a frustrating situation, especially after being isolated for nearly a year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It seems adjusting the GPU and VRAM might resolve the problem, so the graphics card could be failing.

Only adjusted the power cap to 90%, yet under stress tests it functions properly at full capacity. Simultaneously, I experienced RAM problems while the system remained unresponsive even after removing the GPU. I’ve heard reports that Windows can generate power surges with new components.

Many boards fail to start without the GPU installed and the error light often lights up. The same applies to boot drives, which explains why it didn’t turn on. RAM problems are also possible. What exactly is happening? This issue seems unrelated to the GPU concerns. Possible causes include a bad cable, GPU, or monitor. There’s a lot of testing you can do here. I’m not sure about the "Windows power spikes," but since it’s Windows, it’s likely the problem there too.

Weak connections or display devices won't bring down the PC. Both problems were shared since they appeared simultaneously and might be linked. The RAM problem was only one module functioning properly (though two were detected by Windows and BIOS), and I've tried all possible settings, now it's not working except for the Mobo.

It seems we need more equipment for testing, as these parts aren't brand new anymore.

It's true, the mobile unit lacks diagnostics and it's tough to pinpoint the problem. The PC is two years old, so the GPU is just outdated—since I don’t play much anymore. I bought a new stick from Amazon and tested it, but I’m concerned that whatever caused these issues could damage components I’ve installed over 20 years of building PCs. I haven’t experienced any problems like this before.

The PC was fully rebuilt and cleaned in a tight case. After swapping the Ryzen CPU cooler, space was freed for a RAM slot previously used by the cooler. Now it boots, but only one stick fits in the non-recommended slot. Using both sticks works, though only part of them is active—either the RAM module or the MOBO.

Both cables function properly after swapping them for posting, which means the motherboard is definitely failing. If one cable stops working, it’s a consistent issue regardless of the board or port used.

Only a single stick fits one slot, it functions properly even at half capacity when connected. This suggests a mix of motherboard and RAM issues.
