My Lenovo Y50 is experiencing frame rate problems when playing Rainbow Six: Siege, which is the only game I’ve tested on this computer. The game utilizes my system's graphics card, however, the GPU is substantially powerful enough for this title, and I also possess sufficient memory to properly operate the game – specifically, the GPU has 4GB of VRAM. Could someone please assist me with resolving this issue?
Unfortunately, your laptop’s power supply isn't sufficient for running that game at a high resolution. Do you have a GTX860m graphics card? If so, it’s not particularly suited for gaming and you'll need to reduce your graphics settings to achieve acceptable frame rates. The amount of video memory (VRAM) – even if it’s 4gb – isn't very useful when the overall hardware is somewhat limited.
Your processor could also contribute to performance issues. Could you tell us what CPU your laptop has and what resolution is being used on your screen?
