The screen drops to a very slow pace, around 1-10 frames per second, regardless of the game. Even after switching away from the application, the computer's performance stays low—typically between 10 and 20 FPS. After restarting via alt+tab, the desktop speed remains minimal, hovering near 10–20. Launching tasks takes a long time; opening windows to restart feels sluggish. Usually I played games without heavy background tasks, and both CPU and GPU temperatures stayed normal. In Task Manager, RAM usage was low except for the programs running, suggesting some background process was idling. Initially I suspected thermal throttling, but temperatures were stable during testing with diagnostic tools. Over seven or eight months I've owned this laptop, and the issue occurred four times. Games affected: CSGO twice, CSGO + OBS recording once, DOOM Eternal once. System specs: Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 CPU (i5-11400H @ 2.70GHz), RTX 3050 GPU, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Windows 10. Background apps included LINE, Razer Synapse, Rainmeter, and Steam. Task Manager was unresponsive, with occasional slowdowns when OBS was active. A warning about performance issues appeared repeatedly. CPU stayed under 10% during recording, GPU peaked at 100% briefly before dropping. RAM usage remained normal (80–90%). Hard drive usage was minimal (<10%). Temperatures were within safe ranges, fans operated normally. Occasionally the system hit 80–90°C during intense gaming, but performance never dropped noticeably. This situation has persisted for several weeks now.

The CPU usage remains elevated; increasing fan speeds might help.

I'll attempt it again and check if it occurs once more

Click OK, return to the main display and ensure the Log File option is selected. Play a game for about 15 minutes or until you notice the slowdowns we discussed. After testing, close the game and terminate ThrottleStop to finalize the log file. This document will be saved in your ThrottleStop / Logs directory. Please include a screenshot of the main window, FIVR interface, and TPL window to confirm your configuration. Many poorly built laptops suffer from significant throttling problems. High temperatures can trigger thermal throttling, while certain applications may restrict turbo power, leading to power limit throttling. The log will document all reasons for these reductions.
