Recently, my GPU performance has been decreasing after launching games. Initially, in Forza Horizon 5, I saw around 70 frames at full settings with 90%+ usage, then dropped to about 25 frames and 30% usage after roughly ten minutes. When I paused the game, everything returned to normal before gradually increasing again. This pattern has repeated in other titles like Rocket League, Gang Beasts, and Jedi Survivor. As usage decreased, audio quality became distorted. I believe the GPU is being used for sound processing. I’ve checked for thermal throttling, as my PC hasn’t overheated despite years of use, and tried cleaning, reinstalling drivers, setting games to high priority, and running a malware scan—nothing resolved it. My hardware specs are a Ryzen 7 3700X with an RTX 3060 Ti, 16GB Corsair 3600mhz DDR4. If anyone knows how to fix this or has similar experiences, please let me know!

You can track your GPU performance with various tools and software. A multimeter isn’t typically used for this purpose, but monitoring apps exist. The latest motherboard BIOS is usually available on the manufacturer’s website, and you can check for updated chipset drivers directly from AMD or Intel support pages.

You haven’t checked your CMOS battery yet. Using the in-game GPU meter helped monitor your usage, and installing the latest AMD chipset drivers is a good step. Updating your BIOS could also improve performance.

Update your personal summary first. Next, change the CMOS power cell, which is more affordable than purchasing a multimeter. After that, install DOCP, Resizable BAR, and retest.

It might be possible to adjust temperatures, but check out this site https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1256. Follow the guidelines carefully—most users find it straightforward, usually by configuring it to use half your RAM capacity.

It’s usually a BIOS or chipset problem—kind of odd. If everything stops working, you might need to replace the motherboard.
