Performance of the i7 9700K under maximum clock speeds varies by use case and system configuration.
I recently installed an i7 9700K and it consistently runs at its maximum clock speed (4.5 GHz) in balanced power mode without any external load. This results in my CPU being around 12-15 degrees higher than the ideal 3.2 GHz. I've looked through many forums and guides but haven't found a solution that helped me. I verified the BIOS settings and confirmed Intel Speedstep was enabled. The images are from NZXT Cam.
I activated all C-states and confirmed EIST was enabled. My clock speed now fluctuates more between max and min, while my temperature remains stable. It’s not fully resolved yet, but it’s significantly impacting me. Appreciate your assistance—this hasn’t been discussed on other forums before.
