Performance of the I5-7400 processor
I've got an i5-7400 with 16GB RAM and a GTX1660 Ti recently purchased. I've been heavily using Assassins Creed Odyssey, especially in certain scenes, even at low to medium settings. I've noticed some videos showing that with the same CPU but a weaker GPU, the game runs smoothly. Do you think there might be an issue with the CPU? I'm aware of a bottleneck, but in this game I don't see much improvement compared to my older GTX 1050 Ti. Any advice on how to troubleshoot the problem? Cheers.
I have the same CPU on one of my machines with a GTX 1060, it runs without issues—no stutters or high FPS spikes. GTA V also performs well on four cores, consistently staying above 60 FPS. I suspect your concerns might be overstated, or perhaps you're exaggerating a bit. Could there be some thermal issues with the graphics card? How are temperatures at japgil93? Maybe you're playing at 1440p? Edited November 7, 2019 by noxdeouroboros
What is your monitor's refresh rate? Have you attempted to turn on vSync? If you're playing games on a screen that runs at 60 hertz and the game exceeds 60 frames per second, it will seem to stutter since the display can't match the game's speed. Activating vSync should resolve this issue.
I've checked and still no progress. My setup has a 1080p monitor and TV, but I often turn off the monitor when using the TV.
