Is anyone else involved in The Crew? How does it run on your system? I got it recently through a giveaway from Ubisoft. I don’t tend to leave monitors on and keep FPS stats active, but the performance felt a bit inconsistent. When I switched to in-game graphics, it still stayed high at 25 FPS, no matter what I adjusted. I pushed all the settings to their limits and then lowered it to 720p—it behaved the same. I also used Open Hardware Monitor and MSI Afterburner to monitor usage and temperatures; the CPU stayed under 40°C and the GPU hit around 65%. Are there any settings I might have missed? I’m hoping someone won’t jump to the conclusion that Ubisoft games are bad.

The game requires a lot of CPU power and can become GPU intensive if you enable AA or use high/ultra settings. It shouldn't be too much of a problem with a 980ti and 6700k, but it's worth checking your performance stats. How are your CPU and GPU usage? Did you overclock either component?

Playing at around 30-50 frames per second on medium settings, then switching to 10-30 fps at ultra for smoother performance. The frame rate is locked at 60, and motion blur is disabled. It appears quite poor quality.

No overclocking on the CPU or GPU. The afterburner indicates the CPU is operating at 100% across all cores, while the GPU reaches a peak of 38%. At ultra settings, low settings mainly affect CPU usage, which varies between 80-90% depending on the core. I don’t use motion blur as it looks poor, and I can’t turn off the FPs limiter—it stays at 30 or 60. There’s no Off option; I keep it at 60.

Observe the GPU spikes at 38%, particularly during high-end settings.

Indeed. I'm going to launch GTAV and see what that one does. I haven't played it in a while.
