The 32GB DDR4 4000 CL14 is currently unavailable, but I see options like 16GB and 32GB DDR4 3800 CL14. For the 5950X, should you choose a single-rank 16GB with higher frequency or a dual-rank 32GB with lower frequency?

3600mhz or less is suitable for this setup. Ryzen performs best when matched closely with the flck. Unless your CPU supports 1900 or 2000 flck, opt for the higher-end model.

I'll find Viper Steel 3600 C14-14-14. RAM speeds for Ryzen models usually cap around 3600, 3800 or 3733 depending on the model.

Ram isn't that important, just grab a 3200 cl16 or 3600 cl18 and you're good. Other bins (except the big ones) are too expensive and will be easily destroyed by Ballistix unless you're specifically using the 3600 cl16 (16-16-16). Usually, a 3200 cl14 is better unless you're aiming for top performance. For the best speed, opt for a 4x8 Ballistix 3200 or a Crucial/Micron 2666 bare PCB for dual rank. You can find OC profiles online and install them easily. Most RAM boosts work well without much fuss. Next up is a Samsung BDD, but those are pricey. The cheapest decent option is 3200 cl14 or 4400 cl19 (19-19-19), which isn't worth the cost. If you just want something plug-and-play without tuning, a 3600 cl18 should suffice. You could also try boosting the clock speed, but that pushes the frequency close to 5000 MHz and can be tricky without sacrificing performance—unless you're just going for a challenge.

You're already using a 16GB 3800/CL14/1900 FLCK module. I don't mind the price, but you're looking to upgrade.
