So I've been getting back into VR gaming again, which for me is mainly racing games, however I keep having serious performance issues (struggling to keep 60fps let alone higher) and I'm wondering if I'm missing some settings that are messing stuff up or if I need to upgrade my hardware? My setup is below: Ryzen 7 5800x3d RTX 3080 (10GB) 32GB 3600 MT/s Corsair Dominator 850W PSU Quest 3 Win 11 I would have thought this setup would be enough to get at least 90fps in most VR titles on Low settings, but I feel like there is something in config I'm missing as changing the quality doesn't really improve things that much. If anyone could give me any tips, or even hardware changes that would be greatly appreciated. I've also tried the Quest in both Wired and Wireless and not noticed any changes, however I tend to keep it wireless so I can charge it while playing (I know its bad for the battery but when I'm going long races, I don't want it to run out of battery).

I’m ready to enhance the hardware and have a strategy for later, but I’d prefer not to if it’s only about configuration problems.

The system should handle 72-90 fps in VR with high settings for games like PCARS2, Dirt, Automobilista 2, etc. You may need tools such as FPSVR (Steam VR), OpenXR toolkit, or Oculus Debug tool to check performance limits. I mainly play flight sims and aren’t very familiar with racing simulations.

Absolutely, you're on the right track. For now, iRacing is my go-to with a bit of F1 25 included (though VR performance isn't top-notch). It makes me nervous when I can't hit over 60 in iRacing. I plan to look into those apps to find out what's causing the problems!
