I’ll use my laptop normally at 140-165 fps, but once it drops to 60 or lower, I need to restart it. After a few more games, the issue should disappear. I’ve tested running with and without an undervolt, fans at full speed, no background processes, and updated my drivers. My system specs are 12700h, 3050ti, playing at 1440p with lowest settings.
Thermal throttling doesn't reduce performance; it usually involves power limits being lowered. @Denial55 Consider using ThrottleStop 9.6 for testing. Enable the Log File feature to track CPU activity during throttling. Run a game for at least 15 minutes or until you notice slowdowns. After testing, close ThrottleStop to finalize your log. Attach the log and screenshots of ThrottleStop to your next update. Include FIVR and TPL details.
Review the Log File section on the primary display. ThrottleStop has been available for over 15 years. It's widely favored among laptop users due to its ability to identify and resolve numerous throttling issues. Which laptop are you using?
Dell has employed numerous throttling techniques over the past 15+ years. This led to the creation of ThrottleStop. They often face challenges with power limit restrictions, relying on an internal controller that can push low power settings onto the CPU. This frequently results in significant throttling, and there is typically no solution available.
Did you review the log file to see the information? If ThrottleStop was active and the log was inspected, new entries were added unless you had an existing open log. It’s challenging to append data when another program, such as Notepad, is already working with the file.
