Hey everyone, just wanted to share that I'm in Europe and the game hasn't been released yet. I noticed on Steam there were many performance problems. Does the new Nvidia driver fix it? Some users have mentioned it. For AMD players, I own a GTX 770 and would love to hear your thoughts (no spoilers, thanks in advance).

So far the performance is poo. Sadly the game requires serious gpu power to run regardless of settings as the only setting that makes a difference for me is soft shadows. I also hope you have a 5960x because my cpu often runs 100% on all cores @4.4ghz so it's a crazy cpu hog. They definitely gimped this game for pc because there is no way the ps4 or xbox have a cpu that can handle this game at 10fps let alone 25 if I can only manage 40fps in crowds with my cpu. Another ubisoft port at it's finest. Still slightly better than black flag I guess. <_<

Experts suggest the problem lies in Ubisoft's development process, not Nvidia's work. Proceed with caution and consider your investment.

When you adjust the settings wisely, smooth performance in 1080p becomes easy. I own a 3570k with 4.3ghz and a 7950 vapor-x at 1050mhz. At 1080p I can run around steady at 30fps (just okay) with high-ultra enabled. This game is limited to 30fps, and consoles struggle much more.

What? I achieved 138 FPS with all settings set to low and at 720p. The game isn’t limited to 30 FPS, and it performs better than the previous titles that were restricted to 60 FPS. Verify your settings and ensure the correct refresh rate is chosen under your resolution.

This clearly shows why the game felt smooth at around 30 frames per second, right?

A few days from now independent tests will assess GPU scaling on various hardware. Nvidia might enhance performance slightly through better drivers. It's uncertain; watchdog issues for Nvidia users haven't been resolved. This is expected to be a game that works well with Nvidia.

I own a watercooled and overclocked 290x, and I believe the game isn't forcing the card too much—it usually stays between 49-50°C. However, during FC3 it reaches up to 60°C at full load.
