I tried using iperf 3 to test the connection and found the speed is much lower than expected. It seems the network performance might be affected by factors like cable quality, switch configuration, or traffic load.

Yes, we are considering direct RAM access mode.

The NAS features a 4TB WD Red Pro WD4002FFWX drive, a 3.5-inch HDD, SATA III connectivity at 6Gb/s, and a 7200rpm motor with 128MB of cache.

Drives operate slower than the SATA connection speed. Consider combining them in a RAID setup to boost performance. Speeds won’t reach 6Gb/s yet. It seems you meant 4Gb rather than 4GB/s.

I checked the results and the numbers look accurate for a 10G connection. There are no obvious issues, but you might explore optimizing settings or checking for interference.

We're considering SSDs versus SAS drives. Honestly, I'm not sure yet. Our office has a 10GB/s connection, but it's using a fiber-linked SSD.

I question if the issue lies with the storage. SATA caps at 6 Gigabit/Second, yet iPerf doesn't require it and you're achieving 2 Gigabits. What processors are installed in the PC and NAS? How long are the connections? Perhaps review some configurations? Also, I suspect the machine is linked directly to the NAS using a separate cable for internet access.

All connections are using the identical cable.

I'm utilizing a toggle. Is this one that's being handled automatically?
