I recently purchased 32 gigabytes of 3000MHz memory, but it’s only operating at a maximum of 1500. I realize I need to adjust the XMP settings in the BIOS, yet whenever I try to save them, the system pops up with a blue error saying no media found.

ddr refers to double data rate. The RAM operates at 1500MHz, but its actual speed reaches 3000MHz. Back in the early days, RAM used a single data rate, so its real performance matched that setting.
