Hello everyone, I'm checking my gaming setup where my CPU (i7 9700k) reaches 80% usage while my GPU (2080) stays at 20%. I wonder if either component is not working properly and want to try enabling CPU Turbo Boost to possibly improve frame rates. The issue is that my CPU gets very hot (98-100°C+) when I push it. Here are my questions: 1. Could my CPU be limiting the GPU performance this way? 2. Will the performance improve if Turbo Boost is turned on? 3. How should I test for a fault in either CPU or GPU? I'm also thinking about upgrading my cooler and using Turbo Boost, what do you think?
It's not very probable. Could you share your frame rate, resolution, game settings, and whether v-sync is turned on? Also, what temperature is your GPU at? Turbo boosts frequency when cooling is sufficient, which may help a bit but won't be significant.
