Hello, your current RAM is likely 6000 CL46. Upgrading to 6000 CL30 could be beneficial because lower CAS latency is important for X3D chips. It might be a good upgrade if you're looking to improve performance. Let me know!

Not worthwhile unless you're aiming for the highest possible frame rates in competitive play. For instance, moving from 32GB to 64GB would be acceptable.

The distinction between CL30 and CL46 is clear. If an upgrade makes sense, it’s up to you. There isn’t a CL46 model available, but there’s a 6000Mhz CL40. Check out this video for more details. I moved from a 5600Mhz CL36 to a 6000Mhz CL30 after changing from 7700x to 9800X3D, and I want to keep performance strong.

You should also check out the video mentioned, as it explains why X3D CPUs perform better compared to others.

I’d probably start with RAM overclocking first. In reality, there’ll be some speed drops, but they’ll be much smaller than with a non-X3D chip, and you’ll still get solid performance overall even if your memory isn’t top-notch.

CAS latency plays a minor role provided your secondaries are properly adjusted.
