Performance metrics for CPU and GPU
After checking online, it seems the GPU may slow down after 90 degrees, but as long as airflow is adequate, you shouldn’t be concerned.
The CPU temperatures are normal. Adding AMD Adrenalin lets you adjust GPU fan speeds via Performance - Tuning - GPU settings. Under Custom you can set fan speeds even without knowing the exact temperature thresholds, just pick a range.
80c is the typical working temperature for that card model. If it overheats, it will automatically slow down to prevent damage. You can modify the fan settings or clean it to help lower temperatures. If it ever leaves the safe range and won’t respond to adjustments, it may shut off completely.
CPUs and GPUs has a built in hard limit for temps, usually at 100C. At this point they will thermal throttle hard enough to keep the temps below it, that will severely hurt performance. If throttling isn't enough they will shut down to protect them selves. This usually dont happen unless there is something wrong with the cooling solution. However its not good for them to run at that high temperatures over long periods, so if you can keep the CPU under 90C and the GPU under 80-85C they will be fine. To manage the GPU temps, you can try undervolting the card. That way you can often get the same performance at lower temps. GPUs also boosts higher the lower the temps are, so in some cases you can actually get better performance by undervolting
AMD Adrenalin software performs amazingly! I adjusted it using an online tutorial with my same card, applied their fan curve, and tried undervolting. The results are better—temperatures are now under 80°C. Thanks a ton!
