Just opt for a budget dedicated GPU, that’s all you need. I’d consider a Ryzen 3 when the new 3 generation arrives. However, a fresh GPU would suit you now and also in the future. I suggest an 1050ti, Nvidias new 1650 or another card that doesn’t require a power connector, since based on your system I don’t think you have a strong PSU. A power-hungry GPU wouldn’t be ideal. If you happen to have a good PSU with at least 450-500W, an AMD RX GPU would be better. They’re affordable in the used market and perform well. I bought an RX480 for about $100-105 and it matched the performance of an 1060 6GB card.

But I've also noticed an issue. I played Skyrim and from the websites I've visited, including those I've seen before. (note: thanks for letting me know)
@DankDeuxez that I don't want to rely on those sites.
I seem to meet the necessary conditions to run Skyrim, but it still keeps lagging.

I checked the requirements for running Skyrim on a game-debate site, which is one of the few places I trust. It seems your GPU might not be the strongest, and you're probably running at 1366x786 resolution. They suggest at least an GTX260 or HD4890. Still, it should work in very basic settings—maybe around 30 frames per second, not necessarily 60fps. If that's the case, I’d recommend a cheaper GTX 770 or 780. These cards are decent and could easily fit into a new system someday. But before making a decision, I need to know whether you have a desktop or laptop, as well as details about your power supply unit and its wattage. Also, let me know if your motherboard uses PCI power cables and what pin configuration it has (6-pin, 8-pin, etc.).

I'm a desktop user with a Corsair Platinum 1000W power supply. I have both 6-pin and 8-pin power cables available.

A 1000watts PSU paired with just an A10 CPU? That’s great news. You might want to check out older RX 400/500 series cards (at least 470 or 570) or a R9 GPU (minimum R9 280). The RX series is recommended because they’re strong without being too power-hungry, though they’re slightly pricier than older R9 models. An R9 GPU could also work if you don’t mind spending more and using a bit more power. An old GTX970 is another possibility. Just keep an eye out for good deals! But eventually, I’d suggest going for a Ryzen CPU since the A10 is quite outdated.

I was considering getting an rx590. Is that a good idea?

That is EXTREMLY good! its actually pretty new and its super powerful! If you got a good deal then do it! Tho i still would recommend a rx 570-580 or a rx 480, since they cost less and are still great 1080p high/ultra gpus. And also cuz you may not be able to get all the performance out of that 590 cuz of a cpu bottleneck, so its kinda usless to buy a powerful gpu but then not be able to feel all of its power. So if you go for an rx 570 and then upgrade the cpu you might actually be able to get more performance in games than if you stayed with your a10 and a rx590. So im saying go for something less expensive and get an ryzen 3 maybe wait for the 3rd gen Zen cpus.

Really? That's impressive. Do you think I can play those games too?

The CPU isn’t strong enough for Battlefield 5, which is why I’m still recommending a Ryzen 3 and an RX 480/570/580. Even with an RX 590, the CPU bottleneck would still limit FPS. So with a Ryzen 3 and these graphics you could likely play Battlefield 1 and possibly 5 at high or ultra settings. This is the minimum system requirements, but your CPU only manages about half of what it should be.

(Note: There are no RX590 benchmarks in Battlefield 5 yet, so there’s no specific line, but it’s still capable.)
