Performance issues with the RTX 3060 Ti.
Hello everyone, I just upgraded from a GTX 1080 to an RTX 3060 Ti. My performance in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 looks almost identical. Even with Ultra or Minimum settings and DLSS enabled, my FPS stays the same, especially in Warzone 2 where it drops below 80. My CPU and GPU usage is around 70-80% during gameplay. I found some benchmarks on YouTube for CoDMW2 and Warzone 2 showing higher FPS with my setup. I’m curious what might be limiting my GPU performance. Let me know!
I've encountered a similar issue in Warzone 2. I maintain a solid FPS, but it fluctuates noticeably—dropping around 80-90 for a few seconds before briefly rising. This pattern persists throughout the match and is especially visible on my 144Hz display. My assumption is that because my GPU is designed for PCIe 4.0 and my motherboard supports PCIe 3.0, Warzone 2’s high demand forces the PCIe interface to operate at its full capacity (up to 8 GT/s) while the CPU handles more work. This causes the GPU to throttle its output temporarily, which in turn increases the CPU's processing time from about 8ms to over 11ms. (PCIe 3.0 reaches its maximum of 8 GT/s, whereas PCIe 4.0 supports up to 16 GT/s.) Your hardware specs look solid—let me know if this aligns with your experience.
