So then it seems the confusion came from me using the labels Gigabyte provided, while I always had the RAM in the correct slots. We were aligned on this. I currently have the RAM placed in the right place.

Great to have that resolved. Just checking—are the memory modules compatible in terms of size, speed, and latency? If not, the system will fall back to the slower or smaller one. *I need to confirm this to ensure everything works smoothly.*

Make sure the Cinebench runs with 12 threads and check the temperatures throughout the test.

Great, thank you for the clarification. These are the same items described: Vengeance 8GB RAM, 3600MHz, low-pass filter, bought together.

I believed keeping it on auto would utilize all 12 threads. I haven’t adjusted the thread controller yet. The temperatures have been about 71°C consistently.

Open the File menu, then pick preferences. Manually choose the desired number of threads. Occasionally it fails to recognize HT threads, but usually becomes visible once you adjust it and stop thinking about it. (I've done that several times, hehe). Run Cpu-z to confirm all threads are active. That should bring your score up to expectations. However, it seems SMT isn't being used or enabled properly unless we verify further. This is the current direction for diag.

Adjusting the threads in r20 was the solution they needed—they weren’t used before for some reason. I achieved a 3575 on my first test, which is much closer to what I was hoping for. While I don’t mind having high scores for r20 or r15, I felt my new build didn’t live up to expectations, so I wanted to see how others were doing. It must have been in my mind. Would anyone be willing to walk me through my first OCR? I know many people have posted videos and asked questions, but I’ve watched a lot and still feel a bit confused. I’m fairly capable but still a bit overwhelmed.
