I’m facing issues with EXPO not applying to my system (see the link). The RAM supplier advised switching from DDR5-6000 CL30 to a DDR5-6000 CL36 kit because the timing requirements don’t match my motherboard. Can I use my existing CL30 kit and adjust the timings to fit the CL36 specs instead? Also, why does the manufacturer suggest purchasing a new kit?

The timing details aren't influenced by the motherboard beyond BIOS issues; they're mainly determined by the memory modules and voltage levels. The motherboard and CPU mainly impact the speed they operate at. The 6000 CL36 sets face more challenges compared to the 6000 CL30 in enabling EXPO, as manufacturers have added significantly more BIOS tweaks to the CL30 models. Yes, there are pros and cons. You can achieve similar results, but the CL36 kits differ fundamentally due to their memory ICs. The CL30 kits consistently use SK Hynix memory, while the CL36 kits typically rely on Samsung or Micron. That said, the lower-end memory options from Samsung and Micron are still inferior to SK Hynix, which raises questions about the design choices. I suspect a lack of customer service awareness might be involved.

They mentioned the incompatibility with my motherboard, so adjusting the timings might help. The support team suggested contacting a technician because the initial representative didn’t think it was necessary.

I don't question your technician's expertise, but it seems improbable the problem lies there. More likely, you have a faulty RAM stick rather than timing issues.
