Before I start, here are your details: 3080ti ASUS TUF (from a 6600XT), 5800X Ryzen 7 32GB, Kingston Fury RAM (3200), 1TB Samsung 970 EVO SSD (Windows boot), 2TB Samsung 970 EVO SSD, Toshiba SATA Hyper 212 Black Edition cooler, Gigabyte X570 XGAMING MMO BIOS 750W PSU. It’s working just fine so far! I’m seeing solid performance and a noticeable improvement over my AMD GPU. But there’s a problem: when benchmarking against similar CPUs and GPUs in YouTube videos, my FPS is way lower—like 300-500 compared to 500-600 or 180-230+. Even Apex Legends ran smoothly with great performance, but DOOM ETERNAL gave me over 200-300+ FPS with raytracing. I’ve tried lots of fixes: DDU, XMP OC, resizable bar, changed NVIDIA settings, updated BIOS, installed extra software, and more. Still stuck. I’m really disappointed since my 6600XT was more stable. Now I just need an explanation—how to fix this or what’s actually happening? I don’t know what the issue is right now.

Likely the memory speed variation is due to RAM rate differences. Ryzen benefits from fast memory speeds, and tests often use 3600MHz or higher.

3600 mhz has little impact on most games. @Explictz Avoid measuring FPS against YouTubers—it’s not useful and can be confusing. Unless your setup is perfectly aligned, the exact game version, hardware specs, and settings won’t match, it won’t be a direct comparison. Look at what programs are running in the background, as they can affect performance. Confirm your power plan is set to high performance, your Nvidia control panel is in that mode, and ensure your cooler meets the requirements. A 5800x needs more than a basic Hyper 212; it’s built for lower TDP chips, which may not suffice. It might be worth upgrading the cooler. Some PSUs struggle and could cause problems, so expect possible crashes or instability. If you notice issues, they’re likely due to power or settings rather than the graphics card itself. Comparing to a 6600XT or 3080 models is also important—each has its strengths and power demands.

Hello, thank you for your response! I compared my build to 5800x, 3080ti with 32 GB RAM against other creators. In theory it should match closely. They still maintain higher FPS than what I mentioned, especially in the 5800x video. I've also heard that 750W is sufficient for a 3080ti. Could you clarify about those voltage spikes? Also, after trying the NVIDIA control panel settings, nothing changed. My power plan is set to best performance. Might it be the motherboard? P.S. I should mention my GPU and CPU temperatures are normal—my highest readings are around 60°C max. I checked if my motherboard is up-to-date for the 5800x and still don’t know how to fully leverage it with the 3080ti. I’m still getting comfortable with PC builds.

Watch that Should explain what i mean. 750W CAN be, but often ive found it not enough and that vastly depends on the PSU and what its capable of. Also again unless you are perfectly matching that youtubers settings, and other stuff i wouldnt pay too much attention to it. As long as you are close enough you should be fine. Also that is a 12900k System, not a 5800x. Games will perform differently, even the 5800X3D trades blows and is worse in some, better in others. The 12900k is a power hog though so as long as you have pretty close performance and its still plenty for the monitor you have, its fine This is the problem with trying to watch a single video, you only have one source of numbers. Even between 5 of the techtubers, they can have quite different numbers based on resolution, settings, and test system. Its usually within 2-3% but some settings can really make or break a gpu or cpu in a test.

Hi there, thanks for the update. I'll check the details, as you mentioned the power supply might influence my FPS because of the power consumption. Also, I was looking at the link below the 12900k—this is the 5800x video I was referring to. After coming back from work, I reviewed it and found it really helpful. I’m planning to upgrade my cooler and PSU once I can afford it.

I resolved the issue, it seems I didn’t have the resizable bar turned on.
