You're experiencing a significant drop in FPS when playing CPU-dependent games, and you suspect it's related to your GPU. Here are some steps you can take:

- Check your GPU's temperature using software like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner.
- Ensure your GPU is properly seated and not loose.
- Update your graphics drivers to the latest version.
- Test with a different game or lower settings to isolate the issue.
- Consider running a GPU stress test or monitoring performance closely during gameplay.
- If the problem persists, consult the manufacturer's support for potential hardware issues.

It shouldn't have any major issues with that setup. Are you using 1080p or 1440p resolution? The problem seems more likely tied to software or configuration than hardware. As bezza mentioned, please share the games you're playing and your performance metrics.

primarily enjoy apex legends, phasmophobia, forza horizon and rocket league at 1440p without issues. the only game that causes trouble is fortnite at 1080p; it crashes or lags significantly, dropping to around 165 or lower sometimes—really bothersome. i checked youtube for tips on adjusting bios settings, but those suggestions didn’t help.

Consider testing Fortnite at 1440p. Based on available info, this setup seems manageable, but the game's design and current performance might still present some challenges at higher resolutions.
